Engineering resume templates
Templates that give a licence, a project list and a tools block their own space, so a hiring engineer finds the FE or PE line without hunting for it.

Where a licence and certification block belongs
Directly under the summary, and always as text. In civil and structural work especially, an EIT, FE or PE line is a threshold question and a reviewer decides whether to keep reading based on it. The same applies to a Six Sigma belt in manufacturing, stamped-drawing authority, or a state registration number.
Write the credential out in full with the abbreviation next to it, because different postings search for different forms of the same thing.
How much project detail belongs on an engineering resume?
Enough to show scale and constraint, not enough to reproduce a specification. A project line naming the system, the budget or unit volume, the standard you designed to, and your specific role does more work than three paragraphs of process description.
For a long project history, a compact selected-projects block under experience keeps the experience section readable while still listing the work.
- Redesigned a die-cast housing to hold a 0.05 mm flatness tolerance, cutting scrap from 6.2% to 1.4% across a 90,000-unit run.
- Led electrical design for a 12 MW substation retrofit delivered to IEEE 1584 arc-flash requirements on a $4.1M budget.
- Ran FEA on a chassis revision that removed 3.8 kg while holding the same fatigue life at 10^6 cycles.
- Wrote and validated the PPAP package for two new suppliers, clearing both for production on a single submission.
The formatting mistake engineering resumes make most
Drawing-sheet layout. Engineers often build a resume the way they build a title block: boxed regions, tables inside tables, personal details in a bordered corner. Nested tables are the most reliable way to scramble a parse, because the reading order the software infers rarely matches the visual one. Every template here is single-column or a clean two-column split with no nested table structure, so a parser reads the file in the order a person does.

Job titles sit across boundaries more often than a filter admits. If your work spans more than one of these, the nearest two are worth reading as well.
- Skilled Trades & Construction resume templatesTemplates that put your licence, cards and tickets at the top where a foreman checks first, and keep everything else to one readable page.
- Science & Research resume templatesTemplates for the point where a CV has to become a resume: techniques and instruments up front, publications kept but selected, everything else cut to two pages.
